APPLICATION
SV-9D series is an adjustable Sanitary Vacuum & Pressure Relief Valve for pressure vessels or pipe systems, the valve has two functions:
● From the Pressure side, when the valve is normally closed and the tank pressure exceeds the rated pressure (set at 14.5psi/1bar as default) on the outside of the valve, the valve automatically opens and vents the air to the atmosphere.
● From the Vacuum side, when the valve is normally closed and there is a vacuum in the tank (set at -13psi/-0.9bar as default), the vacuum piston inside the valve opens automatically and draws air into the tank. In return, this keeps the pressure inside and outside the tank balanced.
HOW TO CALIBRATE
To adjust the PRV pressure relief valve, use a tri-clamp Tee with gas inlet on one port, pressure gauge and PRV on the other 2 ports. Wear protective eyewear or face shield, set the gas inlet to the desired relief pressure and validated with a pressure gauge reading. Adjust with a wrench so gas is just leaking out at the desired pressure.
